Located on Branch Pond, a large lake outside of and used as the water supply for the City of Ellsworth , Lablawn is a comfortable summer home with modern conveniences and the ambience of a Downeast camp including a part time staff .
From the summer the view from the living room and screened porch is of the lake, remote islands and the far shore. Neighboring buildings are not immediately visible until sunset starts, sunset ends and the glow of warm lights reveals their presence.
Located 10 miles outside Ellsworth, Lablawn is easily accessible from Route 1, or by Route 1A off Interstate 95. Ellsworth, the Gateway to Downeast Maine, is a year-round vacation community with 2 major supermarkets, restaurants an LL Bean Factory outlet, an Acadia Mountain Sports shop, speciality, big box discount and provision shops.
Ellsworth is thirty minutes from Acadia National Park with its rugged coast, Acadia is the most popular park on the East Coast in the US National Park system. The park contains mountains, bike and carriage trails and splendid views of nature.
Maine is the most Northeastern of the United States, bordering Canada with miles of rustic Atlantic Ocean Coast. The state is easily accessible through several airports in cities suce as Portland or Bangor or through Boston with a rental car.
